When asked about the best climbed route in 2021, Sleem he mentioned “The Gruppy”, a 7b+ route in Tannourine El Tahta crag in North Lebanon.
“You begin with a fight and keep fighting your way higher and higher up until you finally reach a ledge almost halfway through. It’s the only rest you get to shake your hands a bit, only to continue your fight to reach the anchor” he said.
He continued to add : “I really enjoyed this route a lot! It’s not exactly my style and is definitely not within my comfort zone, but I eventually managed to get it. I think this is exactly why I learned a lot from it. It’s always important to try routes that don’t fit within your climbing style. and it’s very important to learn from them all. At first I hated it, but soon enough I fell in love with the challenge and the route eventually.
Its an amazing climb and it was a great opportunity for me to reach my potential and unlock skills I didn’t know I had.”
